Arrival of the new transmitter for Radju Marija

After quite a lengthy wait, and shipping from Italy the new Radju Marija transmitter has finally arrived to its destination at the Għargħur Tower. As one can see from the photos, this was no easy task as the packaging of the equipment was quite big so much so that the truck delivering the transmitter could not pass through the narrow streets leading to the tower. So we had to hire a fork lifter to carry the load. But we encountered another problem. This equipment had to go up the room allotted to Radju Marija in the tower complex one storey up. One can imagine that such load cannot be carried manually as the equipment weighs around three hundred kilogrammes. Thus apart from the extra expense for hiring the fork lifter to get the equipment to the tower we had to hire a crane to carry the load in the designated room.

But we have very good news! The equipment is now in place. Some minor work is needed on the electrical distribution system in the same room so that we will be in a position to offer a much better service for our many listeners of Radju Marija on 102.3 FM.
